Experience Hicksville Trailer Palace
Established in 2010.
California's first trailer motel and the second in the United States inspired by The Shady Dell(est. 1927) Built by Los Angeles writer/director Morgan Higby Night, Hicksville was opened April 2010 as a retreat for artists of any medium to get away and have a safe place to create & collaborate. The motel came into existence as Morgan realized that people from any occupation or background might appreciate a place to relax and enjoy the magic that is in and around Joshua Tree. Morgan moved out on his own at 17 and into a Central Oregon Trailer Park. He has had an affinity for them ever since. The idea to make them themed came from his favorite hotel, The Madonna Inn, in San Luis Obispo.

What Our Guests Are Saying:
"Had a wonderful one night stay in The Lux trailer on Sunday night! The grounds are lovely, kitschy, and super fun and the entire experience was one that left me wanting to come back again soon. As a Cramps fan, I particularly enjoyed the adorable mini jukebox in The Lux as well as the selection of classic VHS films to watch on the TV. Staff was very kind and helpful. Definitely looking forward to my next stay and to possibly checking out Hicksville Pines in the near future as well!" -Deb K
"What a great experience coming here!! Jessica was the best host and made sure we had everything we needed. Super cute spot with so many different things to do! Jacuzzi at night watching the stars was my favorite! Most time was spent at the bad ass swing table. Wish we would have stayed longer, can't wait to go back!" -Danielle G.
"A wonderful and magical retreat! Full of entertainment and good vibes! Everything you need to have a good time and leave reality behind you! We will be back for sure!" - Marcus S.
"Literally one of the most fun places I've ever stayed in my entire life. Go. You won't regret it!" Miss J
"This funky little trailer park in Joshua Tree is a super fun getaway. The themed trailers are all different & cool. I stayed in "The Sweet" - got a great night sleep and the place inspired some fun photos. They have a Keurig - so that was a major plus for this coffee-addict. The jukebox was awesome ... really great music selection. As an 80s alternative music lover, the song selections were perfect in my book.
We met some fun people from all over the country by the fire pit and interesting evening convo was enjoyable. If you go, be social with the other guests - that's a really cool thing about staying here." -Terrell S.
"The best weekend ever!!! If you haven't been here you need to go and experience it. My friends and I stayed the whole weekend in the new world trailer and it slept 5 of us comfortably. It's nice bc it has its own bathroom and shower but the community bathroom is still super nice and clean. Everything here was so clean and nice. This place is incredible. We got lucky and had amazing weather last weekend! The women who run the palace are super nice! The pool is small but still awesome, love that there is a hot tub on the roof! This place is perfect for a quick get away! We are going to do this every year!" -Sher M.
